A Peanut for Your Thoughts?
The next time you open a package full of packing peanuts (like for Valentine’s Day, hint-hint), don’t feel bad about having to toss out all of that protection. It’s easy to reuse them. For example:
- This article on Apartment Therapy has some creative ideas, like using them for extra insulation in your portable cooler or putting them in the bottom of potted plants.
- And this piece at The Daily Green has 11 great ideas, such as using them to keep things afloat when you’re out on the lake or in a pool. (This article also details why some peanuts are green and others are pink.)
In other words, whatever you do, don’t just throw old packing peanuts away. Even if you’re not the type to send lots of care packages, we’re guessing they’ll still come in handy around the house.
Got any ideas we missed?
