It’s summertime, which means it’s the right time for cooking outside. But before you invite the neighbors over for some kebabs or sustainably raised meats, make sure you’re being safe and eco-friendly:
- Upgrade from that charcoal grill to a gas-powered model. Overall, it’s a bit better for the environment.
- Add some locally raised veggies to the menu. They’re in season so they’ll be fresher.
- Skip the paper plates. And the Styrofoam ones, for that matter.
- Make sure to turn off all burners and extinguish all flames afterwards. Fire can be fun, but it’s always dangerous.
