5 minutes of caring

Pass on CO2

Your one-ton automobile may pump out many times its weight in carbon dioxide.

For the price of a new pair of Clarks, you can buy a TerraPass and work to offset the CO2 emissions your car pumps out every day. My car is a standard polluter. It pumps out 8,530 pounds of CO2 each and every year. So, short of my buying a hybrid, I'll do my part to help fund clean energy from sources like wind farms or methane capture facilities. Even some world leaders get the idea of being "carbon neutral." Plus, you get a swanky decal for your car to go right next to your "life is good" sticker.

I had lunch with a group of clergy yesterday. The rabbi in our group called our attention to the impact of a single light blub in producing CO2. Now light blubs are available that last longer, are more cost effective, and that do not add to the CO2 problem. Has your organization posted or published anything about these light blubs? Thanks for all of your efforts to make the world a better place.

Thank you, Kirk. In fact, we have. Click on "Archive" above and then check out the More Time On Your Hands article about this. Here is the direct link: http://www.coolpeoplecare.org/article/20...

Thanks for asking!

I am early adopter of Terrapass - I've done it for both my house and car for two years now. I actually was encouraged by Ed Begly's show. I have been more than satisfied with Terrapass. Their communication about where my funds are going has been great. Out of all the carbon offsets you can buy, I think they are the best.
