Team up with a buddy and consume less paper. Got a favorite magazine? Get a newspaper delivered? Then you might want to find a friend or neighbor and go halfsies on your print subscription. While this means more money for you and your nearest pal, it also reduces the amount of printed matter that ends up in recycling bins or landfills. Next time you get that renewal card in the mail, ask around to see who else you know also got their notice. You can join together and save a few trees. And, if you’re looking for some social awareness magazines, we recommend Utne, Sojourners, and The Economist.

Sam and I share subscriptions of Inc., Fortune, BusinessWeek and Wired. It's also kind of like going to see a movie with a friend -- you've got someone to talk about what you saw (or read) which can make ideas and concepts more concrete.
