Recycling is like refurbishing, but better.

We've written about recycling your cell phones, but now we want to encourage you to give them, and other gadgets you no longer use, to organizations that need some technological help. You can keep your desktop computers, phones, laptops, keyboards, printers, and other items with power cords, out of landfills by finding a charity near you that can't afford the gizmos that are now commonplace. In fact, if you've got an extra thumb (flash) drive lying around, send it to Inveneo. They're currently collecting these little items and directing them towards nonprofits that will put them to good use.
