5 minutes of caring
Your Own Stirrer

Pack your own tools when visiting the coffee shop.
You only use it for four seconds and then toss it – what's up with that? The coffee stirrer is one of those things you use without thinking about when you add your sweeteners and creamers. But now we want to bring it to your attention. With five hundred million cups of coffee sold each day in the US, those skinny plastic straws and thin wood strips add up quickly. So, the next time you grab your java, take along an item you can reuse when you stir, like a metal spoon (or just stash your plastic stirrer for later).
