5 minutes of caring

World Water Day

Today, think of those whose necessity is your luxury.

Today we celebrate World Water Day. And, with over two and a half billion people lacking access to proper sanitation, the need for action is great (and growing). Today, follow the example of some organizations and raise awareness about the immense need for proper sanitation around the world. Likewise, keep track of how many times you use water today (flushing the toilet, washing your hands, getting a drink, taking a shower, brushing your teeth) and donate a proper amount for each occurrence to an organization making a difference in the quest to get healthy water to every human being.

Just a simple thing such as keeping track of how much water you use in one day is awesome in the true sense of the word. Just using a dishpan in my bathroom sink to see how much I, alone, use by washing my hands, brushing my teeth, etc. was eye-opening. Plus, I could put this same water down my toilet and save the three gallons that it takes to flush.
