Farmers' Markets
|
Stay close to home: buy and plant local. If you're feeling inspired by Gardening Week and want to try your hand at planting something, consider your local farmers' market for ideas. Farmers' Markets allow growers themselves to earn fair prices for their hard earned work. You can support your local farmers by purchasing their plants or pesticide-free lawn treatments. Many markets also offer some of the freshest produce and food as well, since these growers are near your neck of the woods. Also, because they're selling close to where they grow, there is less strain on the environment, as food isn't hauled from sea to shining sea.
