5 minutes of caring
The Revolution Will NOT Be Televised
|
TV or Not TV? I'm watching it right now. It's how I keep up with sports. It's how I met some of my first friends. It's TV. And this week is TV-Turnoff week. Turn off the TV and do what? Read. Talk to your children. Write a letter. Read some more. Exercise. Call a friend. Rest. And the list goes on. The average child spends 1,680 minutes each week watching TV. That's 360 five-minute blocks. And we all know what you can do it just five minutes. So, join the club and make it a TV-free week. Your wallet thanks you.

I got rid of my tv in 1999, when my first child was almost due to be born. We watch tv at friends' houses occasionally, but not often, and we are very happy. We get lots and lots of minutes to fill with good things.
