Today is Malaria Awareness Day.

Today America officially commemorates Malaria Awareness Day. The goal is to raise global awareness of this deadly disease, and different folks are observing the day with challenges, incentives, and yummy bubblegum pop. The United Methodist Church urges you to skip lunch and instead spend your $10 with Nothing But Nets. Bill and Melinda Gates set up a challenge grant as incentive. And the American Idol cast will give back while their corporate sponsors give up money for every vote cast. So, even though you can't text your vote for Sanjaya, your vote still counts - now more than ever.
