Ankle Deep In It
Step in – the water's lukewarm. How much water do you waste while waiting for your shower to warm up each morning? Here's a fun little experiment to find out: Tomorrow, plug your drain as soon as you turn on the water. Then, as you stand outside of the tub, sticking one hand in until your desired temperature is reached, watch the water level in the tub rise ever higher. If the water is ankle-deep by the time you hop in, you should consider switching to a low-flow showerhead. Or, jump in as soon as you turn on the water. You'll get warm soon enough.

I've thought about placing a bucket under the shower when it's warming up and using it to water my plants...sorry, I cannot tolerate jumping in a cold shower! Although this may sound gross to some, I only shower every other day - when I'm not working out. Also, it's cold now, so I don't perspire as much. I also don't flush the toilet each time - I follow the expression "If it's yellow, let it mellow, if it's brown, flush it down!" Post a commentYou must be a registered user to post comments. |
