Give Better
You have choices when you give to others. Feliz Navidad is about to be stuck in your head, which can mean only one thing: Christmas is Not Your Birthday. Once again, we're here to help you think about how to use this time of year to embrace generosity more than selfishness. While giving is good, by making a slightly different choice, it can be even better. As you start to shop for those you love, we'll share ways to help you think about how a certain gift can be made better and can benefit more than the recipient. Think of it as a better kind of 2-for-1.

Tobi commented, on November 28, 2007 at 7:21 a.m.: All my gifts this year are going to be homemade and from mostly recycled materials. The kids and I are going to spend time together making the gifts. For example we are making padded clothes hangers from old plastic hangers (I have loads in my closets)and plastic grocery bags. So I'm using those plastic bags for something good and I finally bought several cloth bags to do my shopping with. Post a commentYou must be a registered user to post comments. |

Sort of along those same lines, my girlfriend and I decided to send completely random Christmas cards this year. We were buying a box of cards to send to friends and family when we noticed that we would have a bunch extra, so randomly selecting names from the local phone book we will mail Christmas greetings to people we don't know. We intend on telling the recpiant that this was done randomly. No big deal, just honest to goodness Christmas greetings.
