For the Birds

Easy treats to make for our fine feathered friends and bring the family together for some quality time.

Share the holiday spirit with your feathered friends by making them some edible holiday decorations. Make a garland by stringing plain popcorn (no butter or salt) and cranberries onto a length of string and wrapping it around a tree that you can see from inside your house. Or, spread peanut butter on pine cones, roll in bird seed and attach a piece of yarn to make a looped-hanger. Cuddle up with the kids and some hot cocoa and watch from a window as the birds enjoy their special snacks. See if you can identify which birds prefer which treats.

I made a few of these this weekend, but have yet to see the birds discover them. I'm waiting! they will come!
