Recycle water when you recycle bottles.

It's important to rinse your bottles and cans before you toss them in your recycling bins. But, all that rinsing can use a lot of water. You can decrease this use by waiting to rinse all your items at once, and then using water from one can to rinse out the other. By trading water around a series of recyclables, you'll minimize the amount of perfectly good tap water that quite literally goes right down the drain. You should be able to take care of about a dozen of these before you need to turn on the tap again.
