Sock It To Me
What to do with those old socks? We can't find any hard data, but we're certain that on average, one sock gets lost every 7.9 loads of laundry. And we're not sure where those socks end up, but we do know there are lots of things you can do with their newly single mates. Operation Happy Sock will turn them into toys for animals at the local shelter. Other organizations will redistribute them to folks in need. And, whether you use it at home as an instant ice pack or a whiteboard eraser, just know that you can save the world, one sock at a time.

The congregation gets to get involved, the kids get to make something useful, and the dogs will love them!!! Thanks for a wonderful idea. They work great & can be used again & again to dust, wash the car, or scrub tough spots! LISA commented, on March 6, 2008 at 6:10 a.m.: You mean those AREN'T dog toys Im borrowing to wear on my feet??? Amanda commented, on March 13, 2008 at 5:43 a.m.: Ooh! Good idea to use them for doggie toys! I usually end up using mine for cleaning too - particularly dusting. I just slip one on my hand and spray some Pledge onto it, and it makes it a very easy chore. Plus, kids like to get involved when it looks like you're having fun. And how could you not have fun with a sock on your hand?! Post a commentYou must be a registered user to post comments. |

My dog has eaten more sock toys than I can count. She's a big 167 lb mastiff, so she destroys toys in a matter of seconds. Instead of buying new stuff too often, we stuff a sock with the shredded remains of others..instant fun! And then sometimes I just wear two socks that don't match. Hah!
