5 minutes of caring
Sleep On It
Think about all of your purchases. While recycling and reusing are great ways to go green, the best way is to reduce what you're consuming in the first place. Buying less cuts down on the amount of waste from packaging, and it keeps us from having to toss out something we no longer want in a few years. So, to help keep your home clutter-free and your earth a little greener, consider sleeping on all major purchasing decisions. In fact, sleep on the little ones, too, giving yourself 24 hours before buying non-essential items - you'll be shocked at how little you actually want something tomorrow.

I've started sorting things on Ebay (where I do most of my shopping) by things that end TOMORROW instead of a few minutes from now. It offers good time for reflection. I made a promise to myself that I won't buy anything from the store that isn't on my list - if it didn't make the list, it wasn't REALLY needed. It's already saved a ton of money. I have also discovered a way to give back to the community while cleaning out unneeded clutter in the house...
The Freecycle Network is a wonderful website that helps you get rid of things you don't need, and it's also a way to get things that you may need FOR FREE! Sounds almost too good to be true, doesn't it? Well, the only downside I've found thus far is the massive amounts of e-mail you may sometimes receive and the fact that many people will often respond to one offer, so there's no guarantees you'll get what you want from someone else.
I wish everyone the best, and much luck on organizing finances, home, and life! Take care and God Bless
