What's in a Food?

What's in a Food?

Do you know what you're serving?

We have already mentioned the benefits of reading food labels so you know what exactly you're cramming down your throat. Today, we're asking you to take a look at your food ingredients for the sake of others. No doubt you're a fan of the dinner party, so make sure you're not serving up a plate of what someone else might be allergic to. So, as best you can, be sure to inquire about your guests' preferences and prohibitions. This way, you can make sure to offer up some yummy entrees and desserts that will be edible to nearly everyone.

Special contest: Tell us how you navigate food allergies and be entered to win a copy of "Food 2.0: Secrets from the Chef Who Fed Google", along with a reusable lunch bag!

I am allergic to coconut and it is ofter hidden in processed food. When every I try something new, I have to read the labels or if I am at a restraunt, I have to ask. And of course, if unsure, I refrain from eating it. But being a beach loer and sun worshipper, coconut is used in sun products so I inverably have to take medication when I enjoy these activities.
