5 MINUTES OF CARING

Made to Stick

Use magnets instead of tape to reduce waste.

The next time you need a piece of Scotch or masking tape to proudly display your camp crafts (who doesn't love macaroni glued to a paper plate?) or work reminders, opt for a magnet instead. Here at CPC World Headquarters (really, an upstairs, 400-square-foot efficiency), we proudly display backorders on the side of our fridge. As a result, we've saved a few cents and a few rolls of tape.
Small steps like these allow you to create less waste on a daily basis. Get magnetic the next time you need to put something up at eye (or nose) level.

Magnets: what a great invention! :) They are a great little way to save the planet ... one piece of tape at a time. :) Another good use for a magnet is to put a small magnetized clip on the front door (if the door is metal, of course). If you have to leave a note for someone or someone wants to leave a note for you it makes it easy. :)

To reduce further the use of tape, don't wrap gifts! I've always found it tedious and wasteful of the paper that simply gets ripped off and thrown away. Perhaps it is laziness couched in environmental concern, but I always skip the tape and the paper. If I have to impress someone, I buy a gift bag and don't write on it, so that it can be re-used.
