Text Appeal

Use your phone instead of your computer.

When you have something to say to someone, there are lots of ways you could do so. But what's the most energy efficient way to communicate? While letter writing conveys a certain personalization, email seems easier (and faster). But neither snail mail nor electronic correspondence uses less energy than the newfangled text message. So, if it's short and sweet, can the carbon emissions of your computer and learn T9. Charging your cell afterwards will use less electricity than charging your laptop, so you'll save money, too. Of course, you could always call someone with that snazzy phone of yours.

No offense, but I find the impersonalization of text-messaging, well, just not right. I will write a handwritten note anyday...besides, I don't even own a cell phone! :)
