THURSDAY, MAY 28, 2009 That's Not a Trash Can Throw it away. Really 'away.'
Whenever we throw something away, we rarely stop to think about where 'away' really is. Hopefully, it's a landfill or somewhere that our trash can be properly disposed of. But sometimes, our stuff doesn't quite make it there, and 'away' ends up being the side of the road or a waterway. Make your best effort to ensure that 'away' means 'away' today. Stop someone who tosses trash on the sidewalk or in a storm drain. And if you spot trash that's not in a can, pick it up so it can finally go where it belongs (or recycle it). |
