November 12-18 is National Homeless Awareness Week.
Children and teens make up 27% of the homeless population. Let's change that.

November, in addition to calling attention to several other causes, is also the month to raise awareness about youth homelessness. Nearly 27% of the homeless population in the US is made up of children and teens. This only adds to the already complex issue that homelessness is, where real solutions seem difficult and complicated. Whether it's providing healthcare for homeless individuals, or supporting an organization that works with them, see what you can do in five minutes today to make a positive difference. If nothing else, tell a friend about the eye-opening stat we shared in the second sentence.

It's important to note that out of those teens, a very high percentage of them are LGBT youth who have been kicked out of their families for being who they are. If you want more information about what people are doing to help homeless LGBT youth, check out the Ali Forney center.

I work with people everyday who are going thru some many new problems in their lives, that it's not funny. i have been working with some gay teens who are homeless & nowhere to go, but that all has now changed for them, they now have employment & their own apartment & they report to me just about everyday to let me know how greatful that they are, i'm just glad that i can be part of their life. On the other hand, i work with those who are homeless(adults), with no family & some do have family,but they choose to be out here on their own,but they look for help from our agency & we provide them with info on how to obtain employment,housing,education,drug & alcohol classes, we provide so much to the city of Memphis,Tn that we all work off of donations that is given to us, we need more people to get involved in so many areas of their communities to help stop this crazieness of a cycle. if a person will take a look around them ,on a day -2-day routin, they will see how bless that they are & how they can pass it on to the next person to be blessed. We don't relize this until something bad happens to us & then we call upon God to save us, but when you had all the things in life, you should've got involved in something than, but this goes to show how we are just here for now & how we can go from sugar to dog poop in mins. So pay attention to your surroundings & look at those who might need your help & try to bless them for today, it will payoff for you when u have a heat of gold.
