Once again, Doctors Without Borders released their list of the most underreported humanitarian crises from 2008. The list is staggering – from civilians being killed in northwestern Pakistan to the war in eastern Congo. But perhaps what’s more staggering is the fact that these stories didn’t find their way onto most mainstream airwaves. As such, most of the public is clueless about crises in Zimbabwe or Sudan. Resolve to be educated in 2009 and stay on top of important news like this. Be a good global citizen and promise to spend 5 minutes a day learning about issues like these.
