It is estimated that over 300 million kids around the world don’t own a single pair of shoes. The sad irony is that’s the same number of shoes that Americans tossed into landfills last year. It’s time to put a stop to all that. You can get your faith community or church involved in donating shoes to those who need it. You can start a shoe drive at your church, or get people involved in the 50,000 Shoes in 50 Days Campaign. Religious communities can be very powerful forces for good, even if it’s one pair at a time.
