An animal sanctuary is usually a place where animals go to live the rest of their lives in peace and comfort. Most of the time, sanctuaries are for larger animals that aren’t kept as pets, but you may have a nonprofit near you that calls themselves a sanctuary. No biggie. But, there is a need to support the animal organizations that look after our 2- and 4-legged friends after their time some place else has ended. Here’s a sanctuary for elephants. And one for orangutans. Find an animal (and its sanctuary) that interests you and offer your support.
