On Saturday and Sunday, July 17 and 18, over twenty five nonprofit organizations will join forces to create awareness for the cancer support and awareness programs available to the Nashville community. Hosted by Playing By Air Productions at the Nashville Children’s Theatre, this event marks one of the largest gatherings of local cancer support organizations in recent history.
Attendees will be treated to Playing By Air’s self-titled production of juggling, music, and physical comedy, lobby exhibits by each nonprofit, and free portraits for cancer survivors by Martin O’Connor Photography. Tickets to the show are $10 for general admission and available online at PlayingByAirCares.com and at the Nashville Children’s Theatre.
The participating organizations include local cancer centers, support groups, survivor advocates, exercise programs, benefit concerts, as well as groups that focus on children, minorities, young adults, and specific cancer types. Additional information and links for these nonprofits are available on the Playing By Air Cares web site.
The show is just over an hour in length and a great way for busy professionals, teenagers, and families to enjoy live entertainment and get involved with the community. Cancer awareness and prevention are central to Playing By Air’s mission. The Nashville-based company’s efforts include performances and workshops for cancer survivors as well as the CatchItEarly.org campaign, which uses PSA juggling videos for cancer prevention awareness.
Performances are Saturday, July 17 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday July 18 at 2:00 p.m. Both shows are open to the public. Tickets are $10 general admission. Visit Playing by Air’s website to learn more about the show and cancer awareness in middle Tennessee.
