Don't Blow It

What’s worse than idling your car for minutes on end while waiting for your friend to come outside and hop in? Blaring your horn until they do, waking up the entire neighborhood from its afternoon nap. While blowing your horn to let someone know you’ve arrived may seem like a good idea, you’re actually polluting the neighborhood from both ends: by spewing emissions from your idling car’s tailpipe and spewing noise pollution from your car’s horn. Next time you need to pick someone up, park, turn off the car, and walk to the door. It’ll make everyone much happier.
