TWTP presents "Women's Work" 2:30 p.m.  –  12:00 a.m.

Tennessee Women's Theater Project presents its second annual "Women's Work: A Showcase and Celebration" of works by women. Theater, poetry, dance, film, and visual arts.

12 different performances, at an unbeatable bargain price - come to every show!

Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm, with Sunday matinees at 2:30 pm on May 11, 18 and 25. Final performance Sunday May 25.

May 9, 7:30 — Poems & Essays by the Women of Magdalene; Women to the Nth Power: Poetry to Inspire and Encourage by Gwynelle Dismukes, Sela Pearson, & Thandiwe Shiphrah

May 10, 7:30 — The Game (short play reading) by Rachel Carrozierre; Xiu Hong Feng in concert (Chinese opera and folk songs)

May 11, 2:30 — An Afternoon of Poetry featuring Edith Costanza, Amy E. Hall, Sylvia Lewis, Kristine Mains, Stephanie McGuirk, Jeanne Moses, Raziya, and the poetry group Relative

May 11, 7:30 — Ginger Newman in Concert

May 15, 7:30 — If I Give My Heart to You by Dorothy Marcic (staged reading of a new play by the author of Respect)

May 16, 7:30 — MOTHERHOOD: the Musical by Sue Fabisch (staged reading of a new musical)

May 17, 7:30 — Turning a Corner and Doin It: Sex, Disability and Videotape by Salome Chasnoff and Beyond Media (2 documentary films)

May 18, 2:30 — Singer/songwriters in Concert, featuring Melissa Brett, Connie Hutto and Shirley Rutland

May 22, 7:30 — Come on-a My House: Story of a Girl Singer by Catherine Holder (one-woman play); Inner Child by Sarah Morgan (short play); Music City Stories by Molly Hoekstra (staged reading of a short play)

May 23, 7:30 — The Healing Power of a Song by Benita Hill (documentary film and concert performance)

May 24, 7:30 — An Evening of Song and Dance featuring dance by the Nashville Chinese Culture Club; choreographers Patricia Cross, Shauna Smartt, Kathleen Spinazzola; song stylist Andrea White; and Against Type by Lindsay Terrizzi (one-woman show)

May 25, 2:30 — Nashville: the Music City Musical by Carolyn German (staged reading of a musical)

The artwork of photographer and calligrapher Sue Dippold, artist Marla Faith, photographer Kim Kinsley-Herrera, and graphic designer Amy Olert will be on display in the lobby for the run of the festival.

Individual tickets are just $5. The Festival Pass is only $25 for all shows.
