Blockenstein2: A Monster Community Yard Sale and Block Party 8:00 a.m.  –  5:00 p.m.

Blockenstein2: A Monster Community Yard Sale and Block Party is returning to Highlandtown on Saturday, May 31, 2008. Sponsored by the Highlandtown Community Association, this year’s event promises to be even more exciting than before with more families participating, live musical entertainment and Blockenstein’s first charity raffle with proceeds benefiting the Southeast Police Department Christmas Store.

All residents of Highlandtown are invited to register to set up a table at the yard sale which will happen in the 3100 and 3200 blocks of Bank Street between S. East Ave and S. Ellwood Ave. The yard sale will be from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.

In addition to the yard sale participants, this year’s event will also expand the community services area where local retailers, community organizations and city services will be invited to set up tables where they can meet and greet attendees and pass out literature or other items of interest for the community.

After the yard sale portion of the event wraps up at noon, participating residents of Highlandtown are invited to join in the block party from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be food, drinks, and music.

The 3100 and 3200 blocks of Bank Street will be closed to all traffic and vehicles from 6:00a.m. to 6p.m. on the day of the event.

For more information or to register to participate, write to Blockenstein@comcast.net or call Susan Allenback at (410) 534-0966.

Special thanks to Comcast, Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts and Mayor Sheila Dixon for helping to make this event possible.
