Farmers’ Market Fresh 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Local farmers’ markets offer a wide assortment of the season’s freshest produce. Whether you’re not able to grow your own vegetables or just want to supplement what you produce on your own, farmers’ markets are exceptional resources.
Join us as we explore the Market Square farmers’ market on a Saturday morning. We’ll talk about eating with the seasons and taking advantage of locally grown produce, as well as what to look for when selecting vegetables and how to store them properly. After we’ve made our selections, we’ll meet at Greenhouse 11 on the UT West (Agriculture) Campus to discuss preparation techniques and prepare some dishes using our fresh vegetables. A $5 materials fee is due to the instructor at the class. Instructor: Mary Collins-Shepard Course #284601 Fee: $49 Saturday, June 14, 2008 l0:00 a.m. to Noon Registration deadline is June 6.
