Second Annual Kids' Day at Ten Thousand Villages 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
|
On Saturday, June 21, Ten Thousand Villages of Nashville will celebrate their Second Annual Kids’ Day with music, games, cookies, punch and hands-on fun.
William “Billy” Ramirez will lead drum circles on the sidewalk outside the store at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. All day, children will have the opportunity to create their own sounds by crafting musical shakers, while enjoying the culturally diverse recordings of Putumayo World Music. Kids of all ages will be encouraged to explore the Ten Thousand Villages selection of vibrant toys and crafts to draw inspiration for their artful creations. Face painting and bead stringing activities are planned and Mancala, a board game with ancient roots, will be available for older children and adults to enjoy. After fashioning dough into bowls, vases and other unique manifestations of their imagination, children and parents will discover a feast of earth-friendly finds while shopping Ten Thousand Villages’ new Fiesta Collection, a celebration of culture and color. Creatively crafted recycled glass, snack wrappers, flip flops and cleverly painted cut metal will inspire and delight as they find new life in tableware, mats and wall décor.
