The Charlotte Tailgate Farmers Market is a fun, fresh marketplace for the savvy urban locavore. We feature exclusively local seasonal produce, meats, flowers, and handcrafted goods made by talented artists and artisans.
Currently there are few direct-to-consumer options available for backyard and small farms in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. Community agriculture and sustainability are gaining support, and are popular media topics, and a growing number of consumers want to have a relationship with the people who produce their food. Local food is better for the environment, for the local economy, for our health, and it just plain tastes better. What could be a better reason than that to buy local?
