Twelve Noted Writers Teach Their Craft at the 10th Annual KWG Summer Workshops.
The crafting of poetry will take a front row seat at the Tenth Annual Knoxville Writers Guild Summer Workshops to begin Monday, July 7, at the Hardin Valley campus of Pellissippi State Community College. Notable poets Carolyn Scarbrough, Kali Meister, Carole Ann Borges and Edward Francisco will lead workshops at the annual summer series. They will teach participants how to begin poetry writing, to tap into one’s unconscious for material, to effectively express emotions in poetry, to revise poetry, to perform poetry and do public readings, and how to get published. Eight other regionally and nationally known writers will also teach skills for a variety of genres and formats. Classes may be taken in a series, but each session is free-standing and lasts only one evening. Participants must sign up in advance. The tuition ranges from $20 to $48 per class. KWG members receive a discount.
