Water Walk Weekend: Discovering Dock Creek 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
|
EXPLORE H2O THROUGH HISTORY, SCIENCE AND ART
Take a walk on the wet side (while keeping your shoes dry) inspired by an ancient tidal stream called Dock Creek that used to wend its way through colonial Philadelphia. This is weekend dedicated to H2O in history, science and art. The Museum of the American Philosophical Society has created a self-guided walking tour of Philadelphia’s historic district for adults and families with six stops filled with interactive, hands-on activities demonstrations and performances that highlight conservation, environmental stewardship of freshwater resources, the history of Philadelphia’s public water system and how art can challenge people to see anew a waterway that time has buried. More information on all Water Walk Weekend activities are at www.apsmuseum.org.
