“Party of Note” 6:30 p.m.  –  9:30 p.m.

Fall “Party of Note” promises funky music and fun for Orchestra League members.

The Nashville Symphony Orchestra League is launching a fun, festive member-recruitment event called the Party of Note.

The inaugural evening will take place 6:30-9:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, in Laura Turner Concert Hall.

Complementary light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served, and the Tyrone Smith Revue – the No. 1 dance and show band in the South – will get the party started right with their fabulously funky music. There will be two more events, each with a distinctly different flavor, scheduled for the 2008-09 concert season: In January, we’ll host the second-annual Pictionary Tournament, followed in June by a summer Party of Note featuring soulful singer Jonell Mosser.

An annual Orchestra League membership is $50 per person and will get you in the door for the first event. The fee for each additional gathering is $15. Only 150 reservations will be taken for our fall Party of Note, so get your registration in early! Watch for additional information to be posted on the Nashville Symphony’s My Space and Facebook pages, or call the Orchestra League office at 687-6541 for more details.
