Knoxville Symphony Library Storytime 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
|
KSO string quartets visit libraries in the community. Members of the quartet will read stories about music and then play for pre-school aged children and their parents.
We hope to highlight the connections between music and literacy and introduce the string instruments to this young audience. These performances are FREE and open to the public. The theme for this season's program is High & Low! Fast & Slow! Musicians will read books that focus on contrasts, such as Yertle The Turtle and The Tortoise And The Hare and then relate them to musical contrasts such as pitch: high and low sounds; dynamics: loud and soft sounds and tempo: fast and slow music. These performances will prepare children for the KSO's Family Concert on November 16 featuring the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra and animated character Picardy Penguin
