Fueled by its mission to use the arts of diverse cultures to highlight the commonalties of all people and to promote cross-cultural understanding and respect, the Global Education Center will be presenting performing arts traditions of Spain, Africa, African-America, India, Persia and The Americas in the twelfth season of ARTS ACCESS: Affordable Community Concerts for Everyone.

Opening the season will be Raices y Rumas – Roots and Branches, an energetic exploration of flamenco music, song and dance featuring Perla Flamenca of Atlanta with special guest artist Maria Tjemo. Accompanying the concert will be a flamenco dance workshop as well as a concert for schools.

The Global Education Center is Nashville’s premier center for multicultural arts and is in its twelfth year of presenting high quality, interactive arts programming for schools and the community. It has earned a reputation for excellence in the arts of diverse cultures. Besides the exciting programs scheduled for ARTS ACCESS, additional concerts and workshops will be offered throughout 2008 and 2009.
