Teen Read Week all day

Take a break from your busy schedule to enjoy some time with a great book to celebrate National Teen Read Week, October 12-18. It's free, fun, and can be done anywhere! Plus reading for pleasure gives teens a secret weapon: teens who read for fun have better test scores and higher success in the workforce.
This year's national Teen Read Week theme is "Books With Bite" and the Library's sinking its teeth into teen reading with some great events. Teens are invited to attend a Teen Read-in and find out about the latest and hottest teen books, BYOB (Bring Your Own Book) or check out something new from our collection. Teens are invited to vote for their favorite books of the year in a special 2008 Teens’ Top Ten online vote. Book reviews and great recommendations from other teens will be available throughout the week online. There are also special vampire movie nights, a scavenger hunt, and crafty fun including tie-dye projects and pumpkin decorating contests. It's a week of reading fun just for teens!
