Volunteer: Reading Partners all day

Reading Partners, a program that assists students (PreK-4) in Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools in acquiring reading skills and increasing their enjoyment of literature, seeks volunteers to read with students.

One-on-One Readers spend 30 minutes a week providing individual reading assistance, while Classroom Readers spend 30 minutes twice a month reading aloud to a classroom of students.

    PENCIL Foundation responds to the needs of Metro Schools by linking community resources of volunteers and materials with Nashville Public Schools. PENCIL matches over 500 businesses and organizations with Metro schools as PENCIL Partners, distributes school supplies for teachers through LP PENCIL Box, and trains volunteers to work with at-risk students.
