All proceeds will be used to provide emergency assistance for families affected by a disaster or displaced due to a house fire and for essential community disaster education. This year alone, the Northern Nevada Chapter responded to both the Fernley flood and the Wells earthquake, providing shelter, meals, clean-up kits and personal hygiene kits to those affected. In addition, our local Red Cross volunteers are providing emergency assistance to families who have lost their homes once every three days on average. The Red Cross also offers vital instruction in first aid, CPR, AED training, baby-sitting and water safety.
