New Years Eve Watch 1:30 p.m. – 12:00 p.m.
|
We will begin our New Years Eve watch with collective silence in the fashion of our Quiet Day observations. At 5:30, you may stay for supper or depart early enough in the day to venture safely to your next destination.
After sitting around a common table from 5:30 – 6:30, we will segue into a time of guided reflection of what has been and anticipation of what is to come. At the conclusion of the reflective period, retreatants may return to intentional silence, read, pray, meditate, journal, walk the land or whatever quiet activity is meaningful to them, until they are ready to retire for the evening. In the morning, we will again gather around a common table to break our fast and begin the New Year nourished.
Leader: Kathryn Mitchem, a retired Deaconess on the United Methodist Church, is President of the Board of Directors at Penuel Ridge Retreat Center. She brings over 30 years experience in leading retreats for spiritual and lay leaders alike. Wednesday, December 31, 2008 from 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm (no cost, bring a sack supper) then 6:30 pm – 12:00 noon on New Years Day (Cost: $25, bring breakfast items to share) Reservations required. |
