An Intro to Interactive Theater Making

The Theater Arts can invoke an expressive language that allows us to converse with ourselves and others, to passionately pursue and discover ways of life and work together.

Interactive Theater is about Community, Belonging, Personal and Collective Narrative, Exploration and Inspiration.

We will start with warm ups and move into Interactive Games that play with various types Movement, Space, Sound and Visual Perception. We will stretch into Improvisation and take an adventure with Image Theater thru individual body sculptures. Lastly we will co – create interchangeable group sculptures that allow us to map and explore our stories together.

Join me as we trek on the path of mind, heart and spirit as we play with the building blocks of Interactive Theatre.

Deborah loves to work with youth and create fun theatre laboratory spaces for participants of all ages to flex their creative muscles with Interactive Theatre.

She has numerous experiences that include Nashville Inside/Out Prison Initiative, Children’s Intro to Environmental Art. She has taken Workshops on Art Therapy with Children of Alcoholics, Playback Theatre and other forms of Liberation Theater.

Deborah is a graduate of the Nashville Peace and Justice Center Leadership Program, Interplay TN and is also working towards her Art and Soul Expressive Arts Teacher Training Certification. She has been known to drum her prayers in the mornings, seek solace in her upstairs Art studio, and her backyard garden. Deborah lives with Max and Zo-Zo her Starfleet Academy Kitties and is Co-parent of Max the next door neighbors German shepherd.
