The Ellie Fund’s 14th Annual Oscar Night® Boston Gala
The prestige and glamour of Hollywood comes to Boston for The Ellie Fund’s 14th Annual Oscar Night® Boston Gala, where movie fans have the opportunity to show off their black-tie finest and enjoy the Academy Awards in style, all for a good cause.
The Ellie Fund hosts the only Academy Awards party in Massachusetts officially sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, an honor The Ellie Fund has earned for the past 10 years. This year’s glamorous celebration will be March 7, 2010 at The Langham Boston (250 Franklin Street), beginning at 6:30 p.m.. All event proceeds benefit The Ellie Fund’s innovative “Care for the Caregiver” program, providing transportation to medical appointments, childcare, housekeeping, and meals free of charge for more than 500 women and families each year undergoing treatment for breast cancer in Massachusetts. In addition to surprise local celebrity guests with Hollywood connections, this year’s celebration will be emceed by WCVB-TV5 personalities JC Monahan, Bianca de la Garza, Randy Price and David Brown. The Oscar Night Boston Gala features an upscale menu including lavish hors d’oeuvres, chef's stations by Tresca and The Langham Boston, Island Creek Oyster bar, Lindsey's award-winning seafood bisque, wine pairings from United Liquors Connoisseur Division, and The Langham Boston's famous Chocolate Bar buffet. The James Montgomery Band will provide live music before the oversized screens telecast live from the 82nd Annual Academy Awards® celebration in Hollywood. Guests will also be treated to fabulous swag bags; a silent auction featuring exclusive autographed memorabilia and Boston's best restaurant, spa, sporting and theatre event packages; photos with official Oscar statuette; and much more. VIP guests additionally receive an official Academy Awards program straight from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. Event tickets are $175 before 2/15 and $225 thereafter.
