Superstitious? Find out at the Superstition Obstacle Course! These special interactive exhibits let you test your reactions to superstitions from around the world. Break mirrors, walk under ladders, spill salt, and don’t knock wood in this unique opportunity to investigate your ideas on risk, reason, fear, and fun.

Target Family Day at ZEUM

Five of San Francisco’s top cultural destinations including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), the new Contemporary Jewish Museum, the Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD), Zeum and Yerba Buena Gardens welcome families with a full day of free admission, hands-on art making activities and special family-friendly performances.

Target Family Day at the Contemporary Jewish Museum

Celebrate Sukkot and harvest traditions from around the world at the Contemporary Jewish Museum's Target Family Day. Enjoy admission-free access to the Museum, where you'll sample the bounty of the harvest, explore the galleries, create harvest-inspired artwork, learn new art techniques, enjoy lively performances, and more.

The Butterfly Zone

Fly on over to the Conservatory of Flowers because the butterflies are back, and there are more than ever. The popular exhibit "The Butterfly Zone: Plants and Pollinators" returns with double the number of butterflies and more nectar plants for feeding. You'll walk amongst a wide variety of brightly colored blossoms, watching (and sometimes ducking!) as butterflies fly from flower to flower drinking nectar and getting covered in pollen. It's a fascinating demonstration of plant pollination in action. The Butterfly Bungalow in the middle of the gallery also allows you to observe the pupae in their chrysalis stage. You never know, you may be lucky enough to catch the moment when one of these transformed, winged beauties emerges. So, come get eye to eye with a butterfly this spring at the Conservatory of Flowers!

Volunteer: San Francisco Botanical Garden

Over 600 members strong, the volunteer workforce at San Francisco Botanical Garden is energetic, fun and dedicated. There are lots of different opportunities ranging from helping in the nursery to leading elementary school groups on field trips. Anyone wishing to become a part of the volunteer staff at the Garden is welcomed and encouraged to do so. Previous horticulture experience of any sort is a bonus, but is definitely not a requirement.
