- Thanks to the generosity of Target Corporation, visitors can roam the Museum free of charge every third Sunday of each month, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. During the 2008 fiscal year, more than 30,000 children and adults enjoyed the Museum's four floors of enchanting exhibits, interactive galleries and creative daily programs.

- October marks the sixth annual Art Beyond Sight Awareness Month, an event organized by the New York–based nonprofit organization Art Education for the Blind (AEB), which was founded in 1987. AEB strives to ensure that art and culture are available to people of all ages through research, training of staff and volunteers at cultural institutions, curriculum and resource development, and fostering cross-institutional communication through a variety of collaborative opportunities. Art Beyond Sight Awareness Month is one such opportunity.
