ETTAC's Toy Tech
The East Tennessee Technology Access Center needs new battery operated toys to give to over 100 children with disabilities in 24 counties who cannot use their hands to play with typical toys. These toys will be rewired so that they can be connected to special switches for the children to press. ETTAC’s elves need time to do this before the holiday distribution party December 8th.

The Master Composter Class is designed to provide practical and in-depth information about backyard composting techniques & bins and institutional & municipal composting techniques and issues. The purpose of the class is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills so that they can teach others the basics of backyard composting and be informed about composting possibilities in the community.

SunTrust Classical Series: Yo-Yo Ma and Joseph Gramley
Yo-Yo Ma, one of the most popular and beloved musicians of all time, teams up with percussion star Joseph Gramley for a rare three-night run. The famed cellist opens with Yanov-Yanovsky's gorgeous new work Night Music and closes with Strauss' heroic tone poem Don Quixote. Gramley's kinetic Nashville debut will thrill both the eyes and the ears in Chinese composer Chen Yi's Concerto for Percussion.

Mom & Child Arts and Crafts Day at the Sexual Assault Center
Come out and do some arts and crafts projects! At a child’s (or even a teen or adult’s) graduation from therapy at the center, we like give them something tangible to take with them to remember all of their good hard work and the positive coping skills they have learned in therapy—something positive to leave with.

Ghouls at Grassmere: Family-Friendly Halloween Event
From October 17-19 and again from October 24-26, Nashville Zoo will hold its 11th annual Halloween celebration, Ghouls at Grassmere. This year’s event features the return of all the favorites, including a wide array of activities, entertainment and treats for the whole family. Ghouls at Grassmere runs from 5-9 p.m. each of the six nights. The Zoo will close at 4 p.m. and then re-open at 5 p.m. for the festivities.

Volunteer Tutor Training

Holiday Nonprofit Sundays at Ten Thousand Villages
On Sundays in October and November, Ten Thousand Villages of Nashville will open its doors to celebrate the work of local nonprofits. Each Sunday from 12:00 – 5:00, a different organization will be featured and gifted with a percentage of store sales that day.
