2008 Austin Wine Festival
Wineries from Lampasas to New Braunfels and Fredericksburg to Dripping Springs have bloomed from a pioneering few, into an internationally awarded and recognized wine region... The number 2 wine destination in the nation, second only to Napa! Together they have created the now 2nd annual Austin Wine Festival, the first of its kind in Texas.

The 4th Annual Blanco Lavender Festival
Visit beautiful Blanco in the heart of the Texas Hill Country for the fourth annual Blanco Lavender Festival. A Lavender Market will be held on the grounds of the Old Blanco County Courthouse featuring arts and crafts and local lavender products. Tour many of the local lavender farms where you will experience the beauty of lavender in the fields and the unique vision of each farmer.

Family Saturday: Marvelous Minimalist Masterpieces - Color, Line, Shape
Visit Sol LeWitt x2 and notice how Sol LeWitt and other minimalist artists created incredible works of art by using simple lines, colors, and shapes. Then, come into the Community Room and make your own masterpiece with primary colors, straight lines, and basic geometric shapes. Your minimal masterpieces will be simply marvelous!

Play It By Ear
Explore the art and science of tinkering with sound! Engage all of your senses as you bring to life 11 interactive sound sculptures. Create your own sound art. Experiment with echoes. Change your voice to sound like a robot. Take a playful, creative approach to learning all about sound production and reception in this feature exhibit. You'll leave having experienced the answers to questions like, "What makes sound? How do our ears work? How do we hear and interpret sounds around us?"
