The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center presents the opportunity to choose from the best selection of Texas native plants, typically almost 300 species. The events feature artists and authors signing their works in the store and guided walks and talks and tips for your garden from experts.

LIVESTRONG Challenge 5K Walk/Run
Cyclists, runners, walkers, cancer survivors and spectators of all ages will join Lance Armstrong at the Austin LIVESTRONG Challenge, hosted by the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) and presented by Nike. A post-Challenge celebration featuring food, drinks and live entertainment will immediately follow.

Trade as One
FBC will host a fair trade market, Good News Goods. Shopping will be from 12 to 3 in the Great Hall. A light lunch is available. This will be an opportunity to take care of much needed holiday shopping while at the same time helping to change the lives of the poor across the world. Everything you purchase will help a needy person in a developing country. FBC is partnering with a fair trade company, Trade as One, to host this event.

Plant a Seed and Watch it Grow!
Bring a picnic lunch to Still Waters: A Spiritual Outpost, and we'll provide dessert and drinks! Join us for a special day of sowing seeds and planting trees. We will plant Texas wildflowers and evergreen trees.

The 2008-2009 Austin Civic Orchestra season promises to be very exciting, eclectic, and engaging, beginning with the first concert of the year. The "By Request!" Program will highlight Respighi's “The Pines of Rome” which was the winning selection voted on by the Orchestra membership.
