Flip Your Fan

If you’ve got a ceiling fan at home, use it to keep your house warm. In the colder months, you want the fan to be pulling air up from the floor, which will circulate the hot air near the ceiling to the rest of the room. In the summer, you want it pushing air down, keeping things cool. In most cases, this means the fan will be rotating counterclockwise for the summer and clockwise for the winter. If your fan is spinning backwards, just flip its switch to reverse the direction. You’ll save energy and keep your toes toastier.
