Give Gifts with Value
It’s a word we sometimes misunderstand today. The idea of “value” isn’t that something is cheap; it’s that something is worth what you’re paying. Unfortunately, many of the things that we spend money on this time of year are cheap, but not valuable. If you want to give a gift that will inspire others, make sure that it has value. Here are some question to consider that will help you shop for loved ones in a worthy way:
- How long will this last? Is this well made so that it will last a long time, or will it break and be tossed out by next month?
- What is the environmental impact of this? The answer may be tough to find, but check the country of origin label and see what the product is made of. It may have traveled a long way to get to you and could be comprised of non-renewable resources.
- Does this gift do good? Meaning, does the company have a good track record when it comes to environmental stewardship? Are they known for giving to charities and various causes?
These three question are just the start. Please add more below. Let’s all together come up with a good set of questions to help us buy things that offer a good value to us and those to whom we give gifts.
