Not Making a List

One of the rare times you can participate by not participating, Buy Nothing Day aims to fly the face of rampant consumption by encouraging people to skip the doorbusters and deals that accompany the day after Thanksgiving. What began as a simple suggestion has now grown into a global movement. (International Buy Nothing Day is November 28th.) Find a Buy Nothing Day event near you, or simply resist the urge to splurge and find contentment in other things and activities. You’ll not only be making a statement by not shopping, you’ll also be helping the planet by consuming less.
